Robert A. Estrada

Robert A. Estrada is a Fort Worth, Texas, attorney and businessman, who is Chairman Emeritus of Estrada Hinojosa & Company, Inc., a Dallas investment banking firm he co-founded in 1992, specializing in municipal financial advisory and bond underwriting services, where he remains active in the daily operations of the Firm. He is a former Chairman of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, which creates and enforces regulations for all municipal bond dealers in the United States, and has also chaired the Board of Directors of the Municipal Advisory Council of Texas, a long-established industry group. From 2004 to 2010, Mr. Estrada served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. In 1989 and again in 2005, Hispanic Business magazine named Robert A. Estrada among the 100 most influential Hispanics in America.

From 2001 to 2008, Mr. Estrada served as a Regent for the University of Texas System and remains active in the activities of numerous UT System entities, particularly his beloved alma mater, UT Austin, where he received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Jurisprudence degrees. In 2018, he was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus of UT Austin. In addition to his business and legal credentials, Mr. Estrada has extensive experience in government service. He has served in The White House as a Special Assistant to former President George H. W. Bush and is a former State Director for the late United States Senator John Tower. He also served in the United States Air Force. A native of Mexico City, Mexico, he is a U.S. Citizen who considers Brownsville, Texas his hometown and now resides in Fort Worth, Texas. He is married to Catherine Bernell Estrada and together, they have six children.
